The 22^nd annual Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival kicked into high gear last night with performances by Andy Brown, and Joel Plaskett Emergency at the Mojo Tent, while Keith Hallett and Garrett Mason, Keb Mo, and Oli Brown Band played the Blues Tent in what was an unforgettable evening!
Last night I had the chance to catch the end of Keb Mo’s awesome set and was honoured to be MC for Oli Brown Band’s early afterburner. Keb Mo blew the roof off of the Blues Tent, but the sounds coming from him and his guitar almost seemed effortless. Then, just as they had re-secured the roof, came Oli Brown Band to melt faces and entertain right down to the last not of his cover of Blackstreet and Dr. Dre’s “No Diggity.” Unfortunately I didn’t make it to the Mojo tent for any of Andy Brown or Joel Plaskett Emergency but I’m told they were just as fantastic!
As always the Harvest never disappoints so I’m going to my best to do their fantastic festival justice in a few blogs this week.
