The Fredericton Fire Department is encouraging people to follow its activities on Facebook and Twitter. Inspector Cameron Dunn says the two social media sites have proven to be popular with the public, and allows the department to be part of a conversation with people in the area. He says some of the information that's posted includes the types of and number of calls fire fighters respond to each day, live calls -  such as street closures because of a fire or accident, product recalls, and fire prevention tips.
