Rent numbers don't tell the whole story: seniors advocate
6/26/2012
The province is being urged to promote more affordable housing for seniors, especially in rural areas. New numbers from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation show the average rent for a standard retirement home space in our province -- just over $1,800 -- is below the national and regional averages. Cassista says the province should also improve home care services to complement its extra mural programs.
