Fredericton Police Identify male in Nashwaak River Incident

On August 5th, 2012 the Fredericton Telecommunications Centre received a 911 call of two persons in distress in the Nashwaak River.
Once on scene, members of the Fredericton Police and Fire Departments were able to guide a 14 year old male safely to shore. Members of the Fredericton Police and Fredericton Fire Marine Units, Fredericton Police Dive Team and York and Sunbury Search and Rescue Team continued to search the banks and water of the Nashwaak River for much of the day in search of an adult male.
At approximately 1700hrs, the body of an adult male was recovered from the water of the Nashwaak River. That male has been identified as 35 year old Joseph Michael Aubrey Duguay.
The investigation surrounding the death and the incident in general continues however, foul play is not suspected. An autopsy was conducted on August 6th, 2012 and police await the results of that autopsy.
