Fredericton needs more accessible transportation: disabilities advocate

A disabilities advocate says Fredericton is behind the times when it comes to wheelchair accessible transportation. Randy Dickinson (left) chairs the Human Rights Commission and uses a wheelchair himself. He's asking the city to make having at least one accessible vehicle a requirement for larger companies...

Dickinson says this is already being done elsewhere...

Dickinson says there's only one company in the city that offers an accessible vehicle and he says people who ride in that van are charged more if they have a wheelchair than if they don't. He says the city's Dial-A-Bus is more affordable, but inconvenient because it needs to be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
