August 8 - TO TREE OR NOT TO TREE [Neil Trebble] - WEDNESDAY (7-8pm) at the TRAIL VISITOR CENTER
Many trail users wonder why the City cut certain trees and bushes and leave others to stand. Neil Trebble and members of the arboriculture staff of Fredericton’s Parks & Trees Division will explain the reasoning behind those decisions. They will also demonstrate proper tree pruning techniques, identification of structural issues and hazards and other tree maintenance issues along our walking trails, such as tree selection, planting, and invasive insect pests. Pruning tools used specifically for tree care will be on display. Neil Trebble is a graduate from the Landscape horticulture program at NSAC (Truro) and is a specialist in tree care. Neil supervises the City’s arboriculture program for the City.
This event is the 5th of 8 TRAIL MIX events to be held every other Wednesday evening at the Trail Visitor Centre sponsored by the Fredericton Trails Coalition. More information: Call 460-2023 or visit http://www.frederictontrailscoalition.com/trail-mix-2012.html
