Album Review

Two of National Lampoon's finest writers in the early 1970s were Tony Hendra and Michael O'Donohue, who wrote and produced the first and best of the National Lampoon's records. "Deteriorata" is a brutal parody of the essay "Desiderata," the travel promotional spot for Haiti "It's Obvious" is an absolute scream, as is the live game show spoof "Catch It And You Keep It." Although there are a few duds among the selections, overall, this is one of the rare comedy records that ages well.
Ken Dryden, Rovi
