Album Review

While not as thorough a compilation as 20th Century Masters -- The Millennium Collection, this release compiles many of Jimmy Ruffin's well-known early releases, with a few B-sides and unreleased cuts thrown in for good measure. While some of the song selections are questionable (would songs from 1974 truly qualify as early classics for a career that started almost 15 years previous?), musically the results are no less than stellar, as Ruffin's immediately recognizable voice delivers a potent punch with each delivery.
